Target Information
PMM1, also known as PMMH22, belongs to the eukaryotic PMM family. It catalyzes the second step in the conversion of fructose-6P to GDP-mannose and is involved in the synthesis of GDP-mannose and dolichol-phosphate-mannose required for critical mannosyl transfer reactions. Additionally, PMM1 may play a role in the degradation of glucose-1,6-bisphosphate in ischemic brain.
