- Disease relevance: Involved in tumorigenesis.
- Function: Exhibits ATP-independent isopeptidase activity, cleaving at the C-terminus of ubiquitin moiety. Isoform 2 shows deubiquitinating activity in vitro.
- Miscellaneous: USP6 gene exists only in the primate lineage.
