PAIP2는 poly(A)-함유 mRNA의 번역 개시 조절에서 억제자로 작용합니다. 이 단백질은 PABPC1과의 상호작용을 방해하여 poly(A) RNA와의 결합을 차단하고, PAIP1과의 결합 경쟁을 유도합니다. 결과적으로 세포질 poly(A) RNP 구조의 조직화를 방해하여 번역 조절에 영향을 미칩니다.
