Background
This gene encodes a protein similar to the breakpoint cluster region gene located on chromosome 22.
The encoded protein contains a GTPase-activating domain, characteristic of Rho family GTP-binding proteins.
Functional studies in mice indicate that this protein is involved in vestibular morphogenesis.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported for this gene.
