Target Information
Members of the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. A novel member, APRIL (A Proliferation-Inducing Ligand), also known as TALL2 and TRDL1a, has been identified in human and mouse. APRIL interacts with receptors TACI and BCMA to stimulate B and T cell proliferation, trigger humoral immune responses, activate NF-κB, and induce cell death. APRIL and its relative BlyS, along with their receptors BCMA and TACI, are implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer.
