Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 37 kDa의 동일한 소단위체 4개로 구성된 테트라머 형태로 존재합니다. NADPH 존재하에서 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시키며, 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제, 수리, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 내 기능에 관여합니다. 또한 GAPDH는 신경퇴행성 질환, 암, 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 등과 관련된 유전자 발현 조절에도 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 보고되었습니다. GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로 Western blot 분석에서 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 유용하게 사용됩니다.
