Target Information
Aldh5A1은 aldehyde dehydrogenase 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 효소로, 다양한 알리파틱 및 방향족 알데하이드를 산화시키는 NAD(P)+ 의존성 효소입니다. 이 효소는 알코올 대사와 지질 과산화로 생성된 알데하이드의 해독에 중요한 역할을 합니다. Aldh5A1은 미토콘드리아 NAD(+)-의존성 succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase로, 이 효소의 결핍(4-hydroxybutyricaciduria)은 GABA 대사 이상을 유발합니다. 증상으로는 발달 지연, 저긴장증, 운동실조, 언어 장애, 발작 등이 포함됩니다. 최소 두 가지 isoform이 알려져 있습니다.
