Target Information
The SLC25A3 gene encodes a mitochondrial phosphate carrier protein that transports phosphate into the mitochondrial matrix, either by proton cotransport or in exchange for hydroxyl ions. The protein consists of three related tandem segments similar to other mitochondrial carrier family members. Both the N-terminal and C-terminal regions face the cytosol.
