Target Information
As part of the KICSTOR complex, ITFG2 functions in the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 signaling pathway.
It recruits the GATOR1 complex to lysosomal membranes, enabling its interaction with GATOR2 and the RAG GTPases.
Functions upstream of the RAG GTPases and negatively regulates mTORC1 signaling in absence of amino acids.
Without the KICSTOR complex, mTORC1 remains constitutively localized to the lysosome and activated.
The KICSTOR complex is also likely involved in mTORC1 regulation by glucose.
