Grancalcin은 호중구와 대식세포에서 풍부하게 존재하는 칼슘 결합 단백질로, sorcin, calpain, ALG-2를 포함하는 penta-EF-hand 단백질 아군에 속합니다.
Grancalcin의 세포 내 위치는 칼슘과 마그네슘 농도에 따라 달라지며, 이 두 이온이 함께 존재할 때 과립 및 막 분획 모두에 결합하여 과립-막 융합 및 탈과립 과정에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
