Target Information
Kinesins are a superfamily of microtubule-associated motor proteins involved in various cellular processes such as organelle transport and cell division. These proteins have a conserved motor domain (~350 amino acids) responsible for microtubule binding and ATP hydrolysis. Kinesin 5 family members (A, B, and C) share structural and functional similarities. Kinesin 5A and 5C are primarily neuronal, while Kinesin 5B is ubiquitously expressed.
