Target Information
CNTNAP1 (Contactin-associated protein 1) is a 190-kDa protein associated with the contactin-PTPRZ1 complex. It consists of a 1,384-amino acid sequence, also known as p190 or CASPR, containing an extracellular domain with multiple protein-protein interaction domains, a transmembrane domain, and a 74-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The extracellular architecture is similar to that of neurexins, suggesting a role as a signaling subunit of contactin, facilitating intracellular signaling in neurons. Expression is predominantly found in brain tissue (6.2 kb transcript) with weaker expression in other tissues.
