Target Information
FBXO21 encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by a ~40 amino acid F-box motif. F-box proteins are subunits of the SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. They are classified into Fbws (WD-40 domains), Fbls (leucine-rich repeats), and Fbxs (other interaction modules or no motifs). FBXO21 belongs to the Fbxs class. Alternative splicing generates two transcript variants.
