Product Specific Information

• Monoclonal antibody was obtained by fusing the mouse myeloma cell-line P3U1 with spleen cells of BALB/c mouse after immunization with bovine osteocalcin.
• Specificity and Subclass: Recognizes gamma-carboxylated residue at position 17; does not react with decarboxylated osteocalcin.
• Reconstitution: Dissolve lyophilized antibody in 50 µL distilled water (final concentration: 2.0 mg/mL). This can be used as stock solution.
  • For short-term use, dissolve directly in 500 µL or more of dilution solution.
  • Store antibody at ≥2.0 mg/mL concentration for stability.
  • Reconstituted solution should contain 0.1% sodium azide as preservative when stored at 4°C.
• Storage:
  • 4°C without preservative.
  • Stock solution (2.0 mg/mL) can be stored at -20°C for 1 year, or at 4°C for 6 months after adding 0.1% sodium azide.
  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

Osteocalcin belongs to the osteocalcin/matrix Gla-protein family and constitutes 1–2% of the total bone protein. It binds strongly to apatite and calcium. Gamma-carboxyglutamate residues are formed by vitamin K-dependent carboxylation, which are essential for calcium binding.
