Target Information
SGEF activates RhoG GTPase by promoting the exchange of GDP for GTP.
It is required for:
- Formation of membrane ruffles during macropinocytosis
- Formation of cup-like structures during trans-endothelial migration of leukocytes
In the case of Salmonella enterica infection, SGEF is activated by SopB, which induces cytoskeleton rearrangements and promotes bacterial entry.
