CPN2 is a large tetrameric extracellular glycoprotein with molecular mass of 280kDa. It belongs to the CPN/E subfamily of regulatory metallo-carboxypeptidases. It is a zinc metalloprotease present in plasma and synthesized in the liver. It is composed of non-covalently linked two glycosylated subunits (83kDa) and two catalytic subunits. The glycosylated subunits protect catalytic subunits. It also consists of N-linked glycosylation site, a threonine/serine-rich region and a leucine zipper motif.
