Bromodomain containing 8 (BRD8), a GTPase-activating protein (GAP), is a transcription activator, colocalized with the adaptor proteins on the early endosomes/trans-Golgi-network (TGN). It consists of a bromodomain in its C terminus end. It acts as a nuclear receptor coactivator and interacts with the thyroid hormone receptor (TR) activation function-2 (AF-2) domain in a ligand-dependent manner.
