Human gene CDK11A (cyclin dependent kinase 11A) is mapped to chromosome 1p36.33.
The human genome contains two CDK11 genes, CDK11A and CDK11B, each with three isoforms: CDK11p110, CDK11p58, and CDK11p46.
- CDK11p110: Present in the nucleus and expressed throughout the cell cycle
- CDK11p58: Found in nucleus and cytoplasm, mainly expressed in G2/M phase
- CDK11p46: Located in the cytoplasm
CDK11A protein features multiple NLSs (nuclear localization sequences), a 14-3-3 consensus site, an arginine/glutamic acid domain (RE domain), a poly-glutamic acid domain (poly-E domain), and a carboxy-terminal catalytic domain.
