Gene Information
Human SP6 (80320)
SP6 (sp6 transcription factor), also known as KLF14 (kruppel-like factor 14) or Epfn (epiprofin), belongs to the SP/KLF transcription factor family.
The protein is encoded by a maternally inherited intronless gene mapped to human chromosome 17q21.3–q22.
KLF14 transcription factor is predominantly expressed in fetal tissues and placenta compared to adult tissues.
The encoded protein consists of three C2H2-type zinc fingers connected by kruppel-links at the C-terminal domain and a transactivation/suppressor domain at the N-terminal domain.
