The insulinoma associated protein tyrosine phosphatase 2 (IA-2) / PTPRN is a transmembrane glycoprotein of 106 kDa. Its expression is seen in neuroendocrine cells. IA-2 is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. It has three domains: extracellular, intracellular, and a single transmembrane domain. This gene is mapped to human chromosome 2q35.
