Transforming protein N-Ras (NRAS), also known as GTPase NRas or Neuroblastoma RAS Viral (V-Ras) Oncogene Homolog, is a member of the Ras protein family and is a low molecular-weight GTPase. NRAS is mapped to human chromosome location 1p13.2 and shows ubiquitous expression. Ras proteins have highly homologous primary amino acid sequences and differ in their C-terminal region termed the hypervariable region (HVR).
