Product Specific Information
- Recommended positive controls: 293T, A431, HepG2, RD, mouse muscle
- Predicted reactivity: Mouse (91%), Pig (80%), Rhesus Monkey (100%), Bovine (93%)
- Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial.
Target Information
The PDLIM3 protein contains both PDZ and LIM domains, suggesting a role in cytoskeletal assembly. It binds to the spectrin-like repeats of alpha-actinin-2 and colocalizes with alpha-actinin-2 at the Z lines of skeletal muscle.
Located near a region of chromosome 4 associated with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, though PDLIM3 itself is not implicated in the disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
