Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of four RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
The RPL27 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L27E family. It is located in the cytoplasm. As typical for ribosomal protein genes, multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
