Product Specific Information

The RB6-8C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ly-6G, also known as the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1 (21–25 kDa). Gr-1 is a GPI-linked protein expressed by the myeloid lineage in a developmentally regulated manner in bone marrow.

• Monocytes express Gr-1 transiently during development.
• Granulocytes and peripheral neutrophils show strong Gr-1 expression, making it a useful marker for these populations.

In bone marrow and lysed whole blood, RB6-8C5 also stains cells with high Ly6C expression. For Ly-6G-specific targets, use clone 1A8-Ly6G (Product #9668).

Applications Tested: Mouse bone marrow cells (≤0.5 µg/test, 100 µL final volume)

Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 805 (BUV805) emits at 797 nm and is intended for cytometers equipped with a 355 nm UV laser.
Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401) or Brilliant Stain Buffer (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Methanol Compatibility: Short-term methanol fixation is acceptable; avoid long-term storage in methanol-containing buffers.

Granulocytes are white blood cells with cytoplasmic granules and lobed nuclei (PMN or PML). Neutrophil granulocytes are the most abundant type. Granulocytes are released from bone marrow under regulation by complement proteins.
