ACOT9은 마우스부터 인간까지 보존된 C-말단 80 아미노산 도메인을 포함하며, 이 영역이 촉매 활성을 부여할 것으로 추정됩니다.
ACOT9 유전자는 X 염색체에 위치하며, 단백질은 미토콘드리아에 존재합니다.
