Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the adenylate kinase family, which regulates adenine nucleotide composition within cells by catalyzing reversible phosphate group transfer among adenine nucleotides. This protein is located in the cytosol and expressed exclusively in the brain. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
