Cactin은 TLR 신호의 음성 조절자로서 MHC Class III 유전자 수준에서 분자적 및 기능적 조절 능력을 나타냅니다. 핵 내에 위치하며, TLR 신호 억제 효과 발현에 중요합니다. 과발현 시 NF-κB 및 interferon-regulatory factor 전사인자 활성화를 억제하며, TLR 반응 유전자 발현을 감소시킵니다. 또한 Cactin은 IkB-like 단백질과 상호작용하며, 염색체 6의 MHC Class III 영역에 위치한 다른 단백질을 표적합니다.
