Target Information
LST1 (leukocyte-specific transcript, also known as B144) is expressed in cells of myeloid/erythroid lineage such as monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells, platelets, and erythrocytes. At least 14 alternatively spliced variants (LST1/A–LST1/N) can be detected; some (LST1/A, B, C, G, I, K) are transmembrane cell surface-exposed forms, while others are soluble.
LST1 induces production of long, thin filopodia in dendritic cells, inhibits lymphocyte proliferation, and may play an immunomodulatory role. LST1/A is an 11 kDa transmembrane adaptor present in membrane rafts and forms covalent homodimers. Its intracellular domain contains two tyrosine motifs, one of which is an ITIM similar to motifs found in Siglec.
