Target Information
HFE2는 철 대사에 관여하며, hepcidin을 활성화하는 신호 경로의 구성 요소이거나 hepcidin 발현의 조절자로 작용할 수 있습니다. 또한 hepcidin의 세포 수용체 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다. 이 유전자는 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변형을 포함합니다. 결함은 juvenile hemochromatosis (JH, hemochromatosis type 2A)의 원인이 되며, 이는 심각한 철 과부하로 인한 조기 발병 자가열성 질환으로, 30세 이전에 간섬유화, 심근병증, 성선기능저하증 등이 발생할 수 있습니다.
