Target Information
NAV1 (Neuron navigator 1) belongs to the neuron navigator family and is predominantly expressed in the nervous system. The protein contains coiled-coil domains and a conserved AAA domain, characteristic of ATPases associated with various cellular activities. This gene is similar to unc-53 in Caenorhabditis elegans, which is involved in axon guidance. Although its exact function is not fully known, NAV1 is believed to play a role in neuronal development and regeneration. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
