RBBP9은 retinoblastoma와의 상호작용을 통해 E2F-1의 변위를 유도하여 TGF-beta1의 성장 억제 효과에 대한 저항성을 부여함으로써 세포 변환 과정에 관여할 수 있습니다. 이 유전자는 세포 증식 및 분화 조절에 관여하는 retinoblastoma 결합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 동일한 단백질 산물을 예측하는 두 개의 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이가 보고되었으며, 그 중 하나는 nonsense-mediated decay 후보입니다.
