Target Information
PAGE-3 (prostate-associated gene 3 protein), also known as GAGED1 (putative G antigen family D member 1), is a 113 amino acid protein belonging to the GAGE family.
The PAGE3 gene spans approximately 6,432 bases and maps to human chromosome Xp11.21.
Chromosome X contains about 153 million base pairs and nearly 1,000 genes.
Abnormal combinations of sex chromosomes can lead to conditions such as Turner’s syndrome, Klinefelter’s syndrome, and Triple X syndrome.
X chromosome-linked conditions including color blindness, hemophilia, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy affect males more frequently as they carry a single X chromosome.
