Target Information
The MCM10 gene encodes a conserved mini-chromosome maintenance protein involved in the initiation of eukaryotic DNA replication. The MCM protein complex is a key component of the pre-replication complex (pre-RC), contributing to replication fork formation and recruitment of DNA replication-related proteins. MCM10 interacts with MCM2, MCM6, and ORC2, and is regulated by proteolysis and phosphorylation in a cell cycle-dependent manner. Studies in Xenopus indicate its chromatin binding occurs after pre-RC assembly and before origin unwinding. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
