AHNAK1 (Desmoyokin)은 700 kDa 크기의 scaffold 단백질로, 세포 외 칼슘 농도 증가 또는 protein kinase C 활성화 시 세포막으로 이동하여 L-type Ca²⁺ 채널을 통한 칼슘 유입을 조절합니다.
세포 분화 및 증식에 영향을 미치는 다양한 신호전달 과정에 관여하며, 칼슘 의존적 세포 간 접촉 시 actin 및 annexin 2/S100A10 복합체와 결합하여 세포막 구조 형성에 기여합니다.
상피세포에서는 세포질 또는 막 결합 형태로 존재하며, 비상피세포에서는 주로 핵에 위치하고 DNA-ligase IV–XRCC4 복합체와 결합합니다.
