Target Information
AXL은 만성 골수성 백혈병, 대장암, 흑색종과 관련된 종양 유전자로 알려져 있습니다. AXL 단백질은 리간드(GAS6 등)와 결합하여 세포 증식을 촉진하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로 작용합니다. 또한 TAM 수용체군의 일원으로, 세포 사멸체의 식작용(phagocytosis)에 관여합니다. TAM 수용체가 결핍된 생쥐는 세포 잔해 제거의 비효율로 인해 퇴행성 및 자가면역성 표현형(예: 전신홍반루푸스 유사)을 보입니다.
AXL은 또한 필로바이러스의 잠재적 수용체로 기능할 수 있으며, 특정 인간 혈액 수지상세포 아형(Siglec 6+/Axl+ DC)의 표지자로 활용됩니다. TLR 리간드(LPS, poly I:C 등)에 의해 발현이 증가하며, 막형 AXL의 단백질 분해로 생성된 용해형 AXL은 염증 및 암의 지표로 연구되고 있습니다.
