Target Information
RPRD1B interacts with the phosphorylated C-terminal heptapeptide repeat domain (CTD) of the largest RNA polymerase II subunit POLR2A and participates in CTD dephosphorylation by RPAP2. It acts as a transcriptional regulator enhancing expression of CCND1 and other cell cycle-related genes (CDK2, CDK4, CDK6, cyclin-E). It promotes RNA polymerase II binding to promoter and termination regions before the poly-A site, prevents readthrough beyond the 3′ end termination site, and may facilitate chromatin loop formation for transcription re-initiation.
