Target Information

Activin A receptor, type I (ACVR1) is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily of signaling proteins.
ACVR1 signals a specific transcriptional response in concert with activin type II receptors.
Mutations in ACVR1 are associated with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), a rare genetic disorder causing abnormal bone formation in muscles, tendons, and connective tissues, as well as Epicanthus.
