Target Information
The specific function of this protein remains unknown. This gene belongs to the BTN2 subfamily, encoding proteins of the butyrophilin family. It is located in a cluster on chromosome 6 with seven genes of the B7/butyrophilin-like group, part of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily. The encoded protein is an integral plasma membrane B-box protein involved in lipid, fatty-acid, and sterol metabolism.
