APC2는 세포주기 조절 단백질의 유비퀴틴화 및 분해를 담당하는 아나파제 촉진 복합체(APC/C)의 고도로 보존된 구성 요소입니다. APC/C는 세포주기 중 유비퀴틴 리가아제로 작용하여, 아나파제 억제제, 미토틱 사이클린, 스핀들 관련 단백질을 분해함으로써 유사분열과 G1 단계의 정상적인 진행을 보장합니다. APC/C 구성 요소의 mRNA 및 단백질 수준은 대부분의 조직과 세포주에서 유사하게 발현되며, 복합체 형태로 기능을 수행합니다. APC2는 APC11과 유사하게 cullin 및 RING finger 도메인을 포함하고 있으며, 이는 유비퀴틴화 활성 조절에 중요합니다.
