Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

ATG3 (APG3) is a conjugating enzyme essential for APG8 lipidation, a key step in autophagy initiation. Autophagy facilitates the degradation of cellular proteins via the autophagosomal-lysosomal pathway, crucial for normal growth control and cellular homeostasis.
Defects in autophagy may occur in tumor cells. It supports nutrient preservation under starvation and normal cytosolic turnover.
ATG3 acts as an E2-like enzyme catalyzing the formation of Atg8-phosphatidylethanolamine (Atg8-PE) conjugate, critical for autophagosome formation.
This process is negatively regulated by TOR through phosphorylation of autophagy protein APG1.
