The Human Caspase-3 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures caspase-3 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing you to create your own multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (i.e., when not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the principles of a sandwich ELISA, using two highly specific antibodies that bind to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate multiple protein targets simultaneously using a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver analyzed results in approximately four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays use Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation.
Each bead is internally dyed with specific ratios of red and infrared fluorophores, creating unique spectral signatures recognized by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Matched antibody pairs identify the protein of interest, with detection via biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike ELISA, the capture antibody is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing free-floating reactions in solution.
The Luminex instrument uses two lasers—one to distinguish bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence, proportional to protein concentration.
This enables profiling of more targets with less sample in the same timeframe as a traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available for six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine).
