Description:
eBioTY/11.8 recognizes CD73, a 69-kDa GPI-anchored cell-surface protein with ecto-5'-nucleotidase activity. Expression on myeloid cells (CD11b) is restricted to bone marrow. In humans, CD73 can be induced to secrete a soluble form with IL-2, suggesting a role in activation signaling. Differences between human and mouse CD73 expression have been observed.

CD73 is expressed on subsets of lymphocytes and increases during lymphocyte maturation. It is found on memory CD4 T cells and regulatory T cells, indicating roles in immune regulation.

Applications Reported:
This antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended use ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal performance should be determined empirically.

Target Information

CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase) catalyzes the conversion of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides, with AMP as the preferred substrate. It forms a dimer of two identical 70 kDa subunits linked to the plasma membrane via GPI. CD73 serves as a marker of lymphocyte differentiation and deficiencies are associated with immunodeficiency diseases. Mutations in CD73 can cause joint and arterial calcification and intestinal tuberculosis. The CD73 gene is localized to chromosome 6q14-q21.
