MA5-13868 targets Major Vault Protein (MVP) in FACS, GS, IHC (P), IP, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and Rat samples.
The immunogen is proteins precipitated with AER317 from the phosphocellulose column flow through of extract of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells.

Target Information

This gene encodes the major vault protein, a lung resistance-related protein. Vaults are multi-subunit structures that may be involved in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport.
This protein mediates drug resistance, possibly via a transport process. It is widely distributed in normal tissues and overexpressed in multidrug-resistant cancer cells.
Overexpression of this protein is a potentially useful marker of clinical drug resistance.
This gene produces two transcripts by using two alternative exon 2 sequences; however, the open reading frames are identical in both transcripts.
