Target Information
Dehydrogenase that mediates the formation of 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,5-DHBA), a siderophore structurally similar to bacterial enterobactin and associated with LCN2, playing a key role in iron assimilation and homeostasis.
It contributes to bacterial infection susceptibility by providing an assimilable iron source exploited by pathogens.
