Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)은 핵 인산화 단백질로서 유전체 안정성을 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 하며, 다른 종양 억제 단백질, DNA 손상 센서 및 신호 전달 인자들과 함께 BASC(BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex)를 형성합니다.
BRCA1은 RNA polymerase II와 결합하며, C-말단 도메인을 통해 histone deacetylase complex와도 상호작용합니다. 이 단백질은 전사 조절, 이중가닥 DNA 손상 복구 및 재조합 과정에 관여합니다.
BRCA1 유전자 돌연변이는 약 40%의 유전성 유방암과 80% 이상의 유전성 유방 및 난소암을 유발하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되었으며, 일부는 질병 관련 변이로 확인되었습니다.
