Target Information
Methionine은 단백질 합성과 one-carbon 대사에 필수적인 아미노산입니다. Methionine synthase 효소는 methionine 합성을 촉매하며, cob(I)alamin 보조인자의 산화로 인해 비활성화될 수 있습니다.
MTRR 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 환원적 메틸화 과정을 통해 methionine synthase를 재활성화합니다.
이 단백질은 ferredoxin-NADP(+) reductase (FNR) 계열의 전자 전달 효소에 속하며, folate/cobalamin 대사 이상(cbl-E complement group) 환자에서 결함이 보고되었습니다.
