Target Information
MARCKS (Myristoylated alanine-rich protein kinase C substrate), also known as 80K or 80K-L, is a 332 amino acid protein localized to the plasma membrane and serves as a major substrate for protein kinase C (PKC).
MARCKSL1 (MARCKS-like protein 1), also known as MacMARCKS, MLP, MRP, or F52, is a 195 amino acid protein that, like MARCKS, functions as a PKC substrate. It is expressed in various tissues, with highest levels in testis and uterus, and is involved in membrane-cytoskeletal signaling processes such as secretion, migration, phagocytosis, and cell adhesion.
MARCKSL1 also regulates Integrin activation and Integrin-dependent signal transduction pathways, particularly those related to macrophage spreading.
