Target Information
ERKs are a subfamily of MAPKs implicated in cell growth and differentiation.
Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 8 (Erk8) is a large MAP kinase regulated by serum and c-Src kinase.
ERK8 down-regulates glucocorticoid receptor transactivation via Hic-5 and negatively regulates androgen receptor and GRα co-activation in a kinase-independent manner, indicating a broader role in nuclear receptor regulation.
Erk8 also acts as a novel effector of RET/PTC3, contributing to RET biological functions.
For Research Use Only.
