Target Information
UBE2J1 encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family.
This enzyme is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and contributes to quality control ER-associated degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome system.
Protein ubiquitination is a key cellular mechanism for degrading abnormal or short-lived proteins, involving three classes of enzymes:
- E1: ubiquitin-activating enzymes
