Target Information
Ubiquitin은 세포 내 단백질을 26S 프로테아좀에 의해 분해하도록 표적화하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다. 이는 polyubiquitin 사슬 또는 단일 ubiquitin이 다른 단백질과 융합된 전구체 단백질로 합성됩니다. 해당 유전자는 N 말단의 ubiquitin과 C 말단의 ribosomal protein S27a로 구성된 융합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 효모에서 발현 시, 번역 후 가공을 통해 자유 ubiquitin 단량체와 ribosomal protein S27a를 생성합니다. Ribosomal protein S27a는 40S 리보솜 소단위의 구성 요소로, C4형 zinc finger 도메인을 포함하며 세포질에 위치합니다. 이 유전자로부터 유래한 pseudogene이 존재합니다. Ribosomal protein L40과 S30도 각각 ubiquitin 또는 ubiquitin-like 단백질(fubi)과 융합된 형태로 합성됩니다. 다수의 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 것으로 확인되었습니다.
